I started my design career in the glorious 1980s in a boutique studio in the UK.

 

Then in 1988 Photoshop was launched and I was hooked. A few years and a few hundred images later I confidently added retoucher to my job description.

 

I came to Australia in 1996 and worked at Hulsboch as a Senior Designer and retoucher. There I worked on many large accounts including Qantas and AMP in the corporate sector and Reckitt Benckiser and Glaxo Smith Kline in the packaging sector. As well as designing, retouching and artworking countless P&O brochures, flyers and adverts.

 

In 2005 I decided it was time to do my own thing and concentrate more on the retouching side of the industry, and so Digital Hero was born. Since then I’ve worked through ad agencies and design studios or directly, face to face with customers. I’ve retouched, recreated and illustrated imagery for just about every industry out there.

 

And for the past 7 years I’ve been using a beautiful piece of software called Modo to create 3D imagery. This has proven to be a far more useful tool than I envisaged. I can now create photo-realistic pack renders for concepts or as a legitimate substitute to photography, or imagery for advertising or editorial - the skies the limit.

 

I still work on design and can offer the full creative workflow from design concept through to finished art including retouching, illustration and 3D renders.

 

So, it all comes together in one heroic package - me!
